Background
What is a TES table wage?
A table wage is the minimum pay agreed in a collective agreement. An employer may not pay less than that when the agreement applies to the employment. Paying more is allowed, so a personal wage can be higher than the table.
A table wage is gross pay. Withholding tax plus the earnings-related pension and unemployment insurance contributions come off it, so the amount that reaches your account is lower than the figure in the table. Use the main calculator for your own net pay.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about TES wages
- What is a TES wage?
- A TES wage, or table wage, is the minimum pay agreed in a Finnish collective agreement. An employer may not pay less when that agreement applies to the employment. Paying more is allowed, so a personal wage can exceed the table. The table wage usually depends on the pay group and years of experience, and it is a gross figure with no tax deducted yet.
- Did Finnish TES wages rise in 2026?
- Yes. Every sector listed on this page has a general pay increase agreed for 2026. The percentage and the effective date vary by sector, and both appear in the pay-increase table on this page. Each sector's own page shows what the increase means in euros per pay group. The increase normally covers everyone under the agreement unless that sector agreed otherwise.
- How do I know which collective agreement applies to me?
- The applicable collective agreement is usually named in your employment contract. If it is not, the agreement normally follows from the employer's industry or membership in an employer association. If it stays unclear, ask your employer or your own trade union. The union will also tell you which pay group your job falls into, and the agreement sets working time, allowances and holiday bonus too.
